Perbadanan Putrajaya publishes an hourly rate card for its Taman Pancarona sports complex, and it settles a question most Klang Valley councils never answer in public. A sepak takraw court is RM2 an hour in daylight. A netball field is free, all day, every day, with no night rate at all because there are no lights. A football field is RM70 in the day, RM140 at night and RM200 on a public holiday night, which is nearly three times the daytime price. We also read the opening hours of six Putrajaya parks on 10 September 2026 and found one that closes every Monday and shuts for lunch on the days it does open, and one that Perbadanan Putrajaya lists as a public park but Google has no venue record for at all.

Only one Klang Valley nursing home publishes its full price grid, and it settles an argument most families never get to have. At Seavoy in Desa Melawati, moving an ambulant resident from a 6 to 8 bedded ward into a large single room adds RM3,200 a month. Moving that same resident from the lightest care category to bedridden, in the same room, adds RM600 to RM700. The room is the expensive decision, not the diagnosis. A Perodua Axia in Kota Kinabalu costs RM110 a day at one operator and RM140 at another, which sounds like the whole story and is not. We read seven Sabah rental companies' own websites on 8 September 2026 and the money is in the rules underneath the rate. One publishes a discount ladder that reaches 50% at 26 days. One charges RM100 to hand you the keys between 11.30pm and 6am, which is exactly when the cheap flights from KL land. One caps you at 200km from Kota Kinabalu, and a return run to Kundasang is about 180km. One prints a 5% multi-day discount in its text and a 15% one in its own table. And one is the only free check you have against the KKIA rental scam its competitor warns about: a MOTAC licence number.

They are all describing the same load of clothes. We opened eight operators' own price pages on 6 September 2026 and normalised everything to one number: what a 6kg household wash actually costs once the minimum order is applied. The gap between the cheapest and the dearest is more than four times, and the deciding figure is almost never the headline rate. It is the RM30, RM40, RM50 or RM100 floor underneath it.

Search "aircond service KL" and the first page fills with sites promising the same thing: "From RM99", "Since 2012", same-day, certified. We opened them one by one this week. Four of those domains publish the same two mobile numbers between them: acservice.my and acfix.my both print 017-534 7256, while aircondcare.my and kedaiaircond.my both print 017-768 8702. Not one of the four publishes a company registration number. Meanwhile the operators that do publish a registration number, a landline and a shop you can drive to mostly publish no price at all. This is what a service actually costs once you read the real price lists, why the cheapest headline belongs to the smallest unit in the house, and the five questions that separate a company from a landing page.
